Today we are going to talk about zoo.
In this blog i am going to clear few points.
1.When and where was the first zoo established ?
2.When and where was the first public zoo established?
3.When was the first zoo established in India.And more information about zoos .
So let's start.
First we have to understand that what is a zoo.
A 'zoo' is a facility in which all animals are housed within enclosures, displayed to the public, and in which they may also breed.
1.So,first zoo was started in 11'th century BC (Before Christ) in China.-
It was only opened for chinese emperors ,rich landlords and nobles.It was not opened for public.
2.The first public zoo was started in 1635 The Jardin des plantes (French for "Garden of the Plants"), also known as the Jardin des plantes de Paris when distinguished from other jardins des plantes in other cities, is the main botanical garden in France. The term Jardin des plantes is the official name in the present day, but it is in fact an elliptical form of Jardin royal des plantes médicinales ("Royal Garden of the Medicinal Plants"), which is related to the original purpose of the garden back in the 17th century).
3.The first zoo of India was The Thiruvananthapuram Zoological Park , one of the first Zoos in India, was established as early as 1859 as an annex to the Napier Museum .The Thiruvananthapuram Zoo is home to 82 species from around the world.
